Olli Rehn: Eurogroup recognizes Greece’s determination

«Greece faces deep-rooted structural problems with determination, as has been recognized by the Eurogroup», economic affairs commissioner Olli Rehn said today in Brussels on the occasion of the Task Force report on Greece.

"The Task Force is working hard to support Greece to implement the necessary reforms to enhance competitiveness, create a fairer and more efficient tax system and engender sustainable development and employment. The main responsibility for these reforms lies with the Greek authorities, but the Commission is here to help and the Task Force is tangible proof of this support," concluded the Finnish Commissioner.

EU and EC presidents Herman van Rompuy and Jose Barroso were on the same wavelength, informing the European Parliament on the decisions of the recent Summit and welcoming the Greek efforts.
