Agreement on the tax bill

 

After exiting Maximos Mansion, DIMAR president Fotis Kouvelis called the developments already underway "positive" and expressed the need to directly promote a safety net for the more vulnerable citizens. "We also talked about farmers, vulnerable groups and the need for jobs for the youth of this country," he added.

 

As Kouvelis said, the discussion and collaboration with Samaras and Venizelos will continue. "We agree on most of the issues regarding the tax bill, and where there are gaps we will discuss them in parliament."

 

The DIMAR president said they did not discuss the government reshuffle. "We have talked about how we will ensure the coordination of the government’s operation, with everything this might imply for each ministry."

 

PASOK president Eleftherios Venizelos said that these measures will be the last. "The point is to stop the recession, regain a positive spot, create jobs, make the Greeks feel safe."

 

He added that the situation has changed in favor of Greece and that now we can make a great turn. "We need to take practical measures towards development, with the help not only of privatizations, but also of the state and the local government as well." He also asked that the banking system "work in favor of society."

 

Regarding the tax bill he said the deviations are minor. The aim is to reorganize the starting point of the country, since "the climate is now in favor of Greece."
