DIMAR President Fotis Kouvelis removed Parliamentary Group members Odysseas Voudouris and Paris Moutsinas, explaining that the two MPs' "support a different political plan from that of DIMAR".
Kouvelis sent the relevanrt letter to parliament president Evangelos Meimarakis today, while in a relevant announcement he notes that «for a while now, the two MPs have systematically and permanently differentiated themselves from all positions and initiatives of the party and have come to a complete deviation from the coordinated functions and directions of the Democratic Left P.G.»
He also says that DIMAR, "a democratic party with respect for any different views, exhausted all possibilities of keeping them in its P.G., despite their evident disdain for our collective decisions. But what is now being recorded in a clear manner is that the two MPs do not just express different opinions, but also support a different political plan from that of the Democratic Left.»
Now the DIMAR P.G. is left with 14 MPs and the coalition government with 164, while the number of independent members rises to 17.
The distribution of parliamentary seats is as follows: ND 125, SYRIZA 71, PASOK 25, Independent Greeks 18, Golden Dawn 18, DIMAR 14, KKE 12 and independent MPs 17.
