Unknown individuals planted improvised explosive devices at the homes of known journalists in Alimos, Aghia Paraskevi, Lycabettus, Penteli and Maroussi. These devices consisted of two gas canisters each. The attacks took place over an hour, from 03.40 to 04.45 in the morning, and in all cases were followed by minor damage and mostly smoke damage on the external side of walls.
Two vehicles of the Fire Brigade with five firefighters went to each of these homes but did not have to intervene because the fires were minor. Investigations into the attacks are being carried out by the subdivision of State Security in Attica.
During his TV show on Mega, journalist Yorgos Economou admitted that one of the attacks occurred at a house on Lycabettus where he previously lived. “The only thing that really terrifies is that there are people who think like that; that they can change the world this way. I am neither guarded nor want to be."
Clash between the government and SYRIZA
In response to the bombings at the homes of journalists, government spokesman Simos Kedikoglou said: "Yesterday, invasions at radio stations. Today, explosions at the homes of journalists. This is an act of terrorism in the field of the media , a vital area of our Democracy. What does SYRIZA want in order to renounce these pampered hoodlums?"
SYRIZA responded to this statement by saying:

SYRIZA responded to this statement by saying:
"Today, bombings at the homes of journalists are absolutely condemned by SYRIZA. Such deadlocks and unsafe practices give an alibi to a government that has adopted the strategy of division, violence and intimidation of Greek society to continue the task of curtailing Democracy itself. A leading example are the statements of the government representative which, in a strange but dangerous way, preach division and bigotry for the umpteenth time in recent days. The struggle for the defense of social and political rights and interests of the working world will continue with peaceful unifying mass struggles, whether the current memorandum government wants it or not."
