The meeting of the three political leaders at Maximos Mansion, which started shortly after 6 pm and ended just after 8.30 pm, touched upon all the crucial issues of the political and social agenda.
Ministers of Finance Yannis Stournaras and Public Order Nikos Dendias were present at the meeting, but left earlier, standing on issues of their ministries which were discussed at the meeting.
Upon exiting Maximos Mansion, PASOK president Evangelos Venizelos issued an open invitation of understanding to the arc of constitutional forces to address the upsurge of violence. He said the main issue discussed in the meeting was the reaction of society towards violence, terrorist violence and also class and xenophobic violence.
In addition, there was a discussion on the course of the Greek economy, with the PASOK president talking about significant steps taken on all issues and saying that talks will resume next week.
Commenting on the case of the Lagarde list, Venizelos said that it is a brutal political conspiracy, for which there are responsibilities of some people in the political scene as well. «The facts have spoken and truth has the potential to retaliate.»
DIMAR president Fotis Kouvelis spoke about the need of political forces to raise a fortress against those who do not want normalcy and are attacking the Greek society and the need to have a social safety net to address the unemployment problem, and stressed that the tranche issue is closed. Speaking about the Hellenic Postbank, he asked for a solution which will not affect the workers' rights.
