Buses and trolleys remain immobilized today as well despite the fact that their strike was ruled illegal. The strike also continues on the rails as suburban trains are not moving either. The electric railway and trams are operating normally and the metro reaches only Doukisis Plakentias and not the airport because of the strike in the suburban rail.
The strikers are calling for a dialogue to sign collective labour agreements that will recognize their working particularities, while clarifying they do not require an exception from the single payroll.
Today they will hold a general meeting on the future of their actions. Their announced that the strike is to last until Tuesday, Jan. 29 as well.
Protests by farmers and PPC too
The front of public transport is not the only one. Farmers are warming up their tractors, while the union of PPC workers is also considering the strike option.

Farmers appear determined to "paralyze" the whole country after the long session of the Panhellenic Coordinating Body of the sector at Platamonas, Pieria. As stated by vice president of the Spontaneous Movement of Imathia Farmers Kostas Liliopoulos, the meeting was attended by representatives of farmers from all over Greece.
"There is great unrest. Attendance at the meeting, where we decided that on Monday we are taking out all the tractors, exceeded all expectations. It will be a great protest. Whether tractors leave the streets will depend on the meetings that are set up with political leaders and ministers. If we are not satisfied with the result, we will close the streets indefinitely. We'll be everywhere, on highways, ports, airports, customs, on the northern border. It is a question of whether the government will meet our demands. If the meetings prove unsuccessful, we will let nothing pass," Liliopoulos said.
The main demands of the farmers, as Liliopoulos says, are very serious and concern oil, production costs, VAT and the tax bill, "which is probably the biggest trap."
