The troika representatives want to see the charts with the cuts in structures and personnel of ministries, public bodies and local authorities before their leaving in a few days.
They are also asking for the specific number of perjurer employees and require the immediate removal of those who have committed disciplinary and criminal offenses.
Manitakis’ colleagues insist that the number of 7,000 perjurer employees is not the actual one and that the services of the ministry are still counting cases to arrive at a valid number that can be given to troika.
The representatives of Greece’s lenders say that the restriction of staff is essential to the fiscal adjustment program. They also insist on seeing tangible evidence of the State’s reduction, stating that the only other solution would be that of layoffs.
The Administrative Reform ministry issued a statement yesterday to clarify that the procedures in the State administrative reform are being accelerated. The statement speaks of a ‘close and good cooperation with the Finance ministry,’ and that the its planning ‘focuses on the issue of mobility for 25,000 employees.
Moreover, it refers to the ‘rational redistribution and renewal of human resources along with the necessary reduction in posts and removal of those that have become redundant.’

However, the ministry says it is necessary to combine all the above with the ‘qualitative improvement of public administration.’
