According to new findings arising from the checks of the Criminal Investigation Division of the Hellenic Police, the deletion of the three relatives of the Lagarde list is further restricted within the period in which it was in the hands of Yorgos Papakonstantinou.
The investigation in the laptop Ioannis Diotis had as Financial Crime head, revealed that no records of his relatives Papakonstantinou were located. If the alteration was made by Diotis then the related electronic traces would have been stored and found on his computer.
The finding says that "after forensic searches performed in Exhibit HDD using certain words and phrases from files under the names B9010138503.xls, V9010140694.xls., V9010140695.xls. (files in the list referring to A. Rossoni, S. Sikiaridi and El. Papakonstaninou) no evidence was found in connection to them."
It also appears that a third USB was created, as the report states that the computer received three memory sticks "with investigative interest." This finding suggests that Diotis created two and not one copy of the USB delivered to him by Papakonstantinou. As police experts say, Diotis’ computer accepted for the first time a USB with the Lagarde list on 6.7.2011.
It is probably Papakonstantinou’s USB, as this is confirmed by the content of e-mails exchanged by the former Financial Crime Unit head and Papakonstantinou on 7.7.2011, in which the two men were talking about treating the material.
The second USB is dated at 8.7.2011 and is probably the first copy created by Diotis which he later delivered to Evangelos Venizelos. The third unnamed memory stick seems to have been created on 15.7.2011.
