Registered unemployed people increased by 10.82% in March

The registered unemployed people amounted to 870,150 in March, an increase of 14,864 (+1.74%) compared to the previous month and of 84,947 (+10.82%) compared with March 2012.

The data of the Employment Agency also show an increase of long-term unemployed by 9,990 (+2.79%) compared to the previous month and an increase of 47,634 (14.89%) from March 2012.
Of all the registered unemployed in March, the 367,551 (42.24%) are registered with the Employment Agency for a period equal to or greater than 12 months, and 502,599 (57.76%) for a period less than 12 months.

Attica has the 35,99% of unemployed looking for work throughout Greece and Central Macedonia 18.70%.

Of the total unemployed 372,115 are men (42.76%) and 498,035 women (57.24%).
In the age group of 30-54 years, the total registered unemployed amounted to 551,963 (63.43%), in the age group below 30 to 228,134 (26.22%), and in the age group over 55 years old to 90,053 (10.35%).
The unemployed Greek nationals amounted to 802,526 (92.23%), third-country nationals to 52,093 (5.99%) and European Union nationals to 15,531 (1.78%).
