"There is no fiscal gap," Finance Minister Yannis Stournaras said coming out of the meeting at Maximos Mansion with Antonis Samaras and Evangelos Venizelos.

"I briefed the leaders about the positive results of the Eurogroup. We did not get a clipped tranche as was said, but the tranche as it was provided for by the funding program. There was a suggestion to get more money but some countries said they would face problems with their parliaments," Stournaras said.

Asked for VAT in catering he said the matter was discussed but the decision will be taken within the next ten days and if it is decided it will apply from August 1.

The main point of the meeting was the multi-bill filed yesterday and the prerequisites for the disbursement of the loan installments.

The Greek government is concerned that the provisions of the bill and the layoffs in the public sector have caused nervousness in the parliamentary groups of the coalition. Although they do not believe there is a risk of negative voting they do not want leaks during this crucial period.
