Dendias: The municipal police officers will be converted to neighborhood ones

Citizen Protection Minister Nikos Dendias analyzed his plan for what will happen with the municipal police on Skai radio earlier today. According to it, the new organizational chart for the restructuring of Hellenic Police provides for the addition of neighborhood police.
 
This specific service will be the evolution of the municipal police, and those who will take part and finally get absorbed by the Hellenic Police will be retrained and then undertake their duties. Among other things, they will undertake checks at establishments of sanitary interest and monitoring of controlled parking.
 
As Dendias said, those assessed and absorbed will not be placed in administrative posts, as society does not want people on chairs and behind desks, but out in the streets.
