Samaras: The protection of the primary residence of the socially weak is nonnegotiable

Samaras heralded arrangements that will not allow abusive behavior and will protect the mortgage lending - Auctions only "for the few abusers," Venizelos said

 

"The primary residence of the socially weak citizens and those that have proven they cannot serve their loans due to the crisis, will be protected absolutely. This is nonnegotiable. The government is studying a framework of arrangements that will ensure the protection of the weak, not allow abusive behavior and protect the mortgage lending for the benefit of all Greeks," Greek premier Antonis Samaras said on the subject of auctions.

 

PASOK says there will be no settlement of generic nature.

"I have repeatedly said that the primary residence of the poor and middle households, those who are objectively weak due to the crisis, is and will be fully protected. The information I have gathered showe that there is no problem. There are very few abusers who, without having a real weakness, are hiding behind those that need protection. The issue now is not the auctions but restarting the mortgage lending for the benefit of the whole economy."
