Vroutsis: The 2014 pensions will be paid just like in 2013

IKA revenue increased for the second consecutive month

Labour Minister Yannis Vroutsis stressed the IKA revenue increase in October - second consecutive month, which he said had not happened in the last four years.

Speaking at the Committee on Social Affairs on the bill that seeks to address the contribution evasion the minister announced the filing of a new insurance bill in the coming weeks. Deputy minister Vasilis Kegeroglou said the bidding process for assigning 60 cars in the labour inspectorate (SEPE) is in its final stage.

It should be noted that, as already announced by the ministry, this bill will contain an amendment that will expand the integration requirements for settling of OAEE arrears so that whatever applies to those who owe up to 5.000 euros will apply to those who owe up to 10,000 euros. In addition, it will promote the conditions and criteria so as not to interrupt healthcare in specific categories of debtors (pregnant women, patients, etc.).

On the side of the opposition Alexis Mitropoulos said, "you will be forced to make drastic cuts because the funds have no money for pensions and this is not populism."

However, Vroutsis clarified to him that the 2014 pensions will be normally paid as they were in 2012 and 2013.
