The worst is over, growth will lead to increased consumption, the Greek PM said
In 2014 we start a recovery cycle, the Premier said at the meeting with ESEE Monday night.
As part of the events for the presentation of the Annual Report on Greek Trade for 2013, Samaras discussed with representatives of the Greek trade the problems faced by the market and invited ESEE to a dialogue with the heads of the productive ministries.
In his speech he said, inter alia: "I want to assure you that 2013 will be the last very difficult year. I am well aware of the difficulties you are facing. I know that most of you were forced to layoff personnel or leave unpaid tax contributions to pay your staff. In the coming months, the recovery will appear to all and it will be a vital contribution to halting the climate of uncertainty that has grounded the Greek trade and, with it, the Greek economy."
Samaras also expressed his confidence that the worst is over, adding that the development will lead to an increase in consumption which in turn will give back life to the Greek market.
"In 2014 we start a cycle of recovery that, with the help of all, can and should take a more virulent form. We expect a lot from you, the Greek retail, not only from foreign investments," the PM said.
