Only pending issue the defense industries, EU official says

The pending prerequisite for the disbursement of the next tranche of 1 billion euros seems to be only one, according to a Eurozone official.

"We expect the Greek authorities to confirm that they have completed all prerequisites for the disbursement of the 1 billion euro tranche. This confirmation is pending," the Eurozone official said. Asked what exactly are the prerequisites that have not been met he replied it is only one, which refers to the restructuring or closure of state industries.


He also said that the Eurogroup on December 9 will examine Greece's progress on the satisfaction of the requirements of the third review of the adjustment program and will also record the progress of negotiations on the ongoing (fourth) assessment.

 

Finally, he added that the Eurogroup should be short and loose, while much more interesting will be the ECOFIN on December 10, where EU Finance ministers will discuss the banking consolidation and the Unified Clearing Mechanism of banks.
