The current political developments and the programming of the party ahead of the European, municipal and regional elections are the focus of the meeting of the Central Political Committee of PASOK, currently in session under Evangelos Venizelos.

"With toil and sufferings the country emerges from recession and the memorandum," Venizelos said at the start of his speech. "The Greek society may feel more secure and confident, closer to the exit from the grip of the crisis," he added.

"We established the protection of the primary residence from auctions. We stopped collective layoffs. We stopped the debate on changing the electoral law on local self-government. We establish the National Task Force to halt unemployment and a 10-step road map for exiting the crisis, as presented in the budget debate," he stated.

According to the president of PASOK, two opportunities are now opened for the Progressive Democratic Alignment: the municipal and regional elections, and the European elections.
