The time for the Filippidis’ extradition to Greece is nearing

The Turkish authorities expect the documents translated into Turkish in order to extradite the accused to Greece

The Turkish authorities are waiting to receive within the next 48 hours the documents needed to move on with the proceedings for the extradition of Angelos Filippidis to Greece as he is wanted under an international arrest warrant.

The documents will be translated into Turkish and are mainly focused on the indictment that the Greek Justice has compiled against Filippidis, during the investigation on the case of bad loans to entrepreneurs from the Hellenic Postbank (TT).

Angelos Filippidis was arrested after the issuance of an international arrest warrant by the Greek authorities for his involvement in the TT case and is imprisoned in Maltepe. The former president of TT has waived his right to object to his extradition and stated theough his lawyer that he wants the procedures to be completed very soon.

Thus it seems likely that the procedures for his extradition to Greece could be completed within this week. The "key for his extradition " is held by the Turkish authorities, who will reply when they receive the translated case file documents.
