Against the EU leaning towards Germany - "Europe can not be identified with austerity»
In his placement at the Conference of European Affairs Committees under the Greek Presidency, Evangelos Venizelos described the 6 months of the Greek Presidency as a period of "confirmation of exiting the memorandum and the crisis."
The Greek Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister was also placed against the EU leaning towards Germany saying "EU needs a new narrative. Europe can not be identified with austerity and we need a new doctrine in response to the Eurosceptics."
He added that the European Council should give certain guarantees to citizens of Europe before the crucial battle of the European elections.
Lastly, by analyzing the priorities of the Greek Presidency he said that "for us there can be no banking union without a single deposit guarantee mechanism that will guarantee at least 130 large systemic banks within which are the four Greek ones."
