Three bodies of missing migrants, among them an infant of 1-2 years old, were found and recovered from the shipwreck in the sea area of Farmakonisi.
The Turkish vessel, which sunk on the 20th January, was pulled up and will be transferred to the port of Leros.
The two-day operation, which began on Monday, was held in the presence of the investigating judge of Kos and senior officers of the Hellenic Coast Guard under very adverse conditions, at a depth of 73 meters, where the wreck of the Turkish vessel “Conzuru” was found.
The two dives of a special Coast Guard team, recovered the bodies of a woman aged about 30 years, a boy aged 10 and an infant about 1-2 years. The bodies were transferred to Rhodes for an autopsy.
The hauling of the fatal Turkish vessel was carried out earlier today Tuesday with the help of the vessel "Thetis" of the Greek Navy. After venting the water, the vessel will be transferred to the port of Leros.
The Greek Council for Refugees has been informed of these developments and about the retrieval of the bodies.
