Neither the Irish singer of U2 was spared from Alex Tsipras’ criticism in his speech Monday night.
The reaction of the SYRIZA president was caused by the second half of Bono’s famous phrase to Angela Merkel at the congress of the European People's Party, where he said that "the Irish people were screwed, but we made it."
According to Alexis Tsipras this sentence does not reflect the whole truth as it should be supplemented by "those who made it were the European banks and bondholders around the world."
