Skourletis: The government will suffer a heavy loss in the European elections

SYRIZA spokesman Panos Skourletis said the Greek government will suffer a heavy loss in the European elections.

He argued that recent statements by German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble are part of the "role" that must be played by each side - Greek government, troika and European governments.

According to Skourletis there will not be a problem with the disbursement of the tranche, "no Schaeuble or Samaras will endanger the balance of the European system."

Referring to the issue of the distribution of the primary surplus to vulnerable social categories he said "it is a mockery. This primary surplus which has arisen in a way that has plunged the economy into recession and has brought even greater social misery is the result of a wrong policy."

Speaking onSKAI radio, Skourletis said that citizens should send a "political message" through the European, municipal and regional elections. "Schaeuble and Samaras will be defeated in the next European elections. The choices we make are primarily political now."

Regarding the disagreements in the SYRIZA parliamentary group meeting on the correct way to address the Golden Dawn, Skourletis said that "no one has a different approach to the issue of the Golden Dawn, the need to isolate the neo-fascist, neo-Nazi phenomenon."
