All parties voted in favor, except for the Independent Greeks (ANEL) who voted "present" - The wife of the Golden Dawn head denies the accusations against her
The vast majority of the members of the parliamentary Ethics Committee argued in favor of lifting the immunity of El. Zaroulia, Mil. Arvanitis, El. Kasidiaris and Nikos Kouzilos. They will meet again next Tuesday to consider the immunity waiver applications for the remaining five members and then will go to Korydallos prison for a hearing with the remanded members.
ND, PASOK, SYRIZA, DIMAR, KKE and the Independent Democrats voted in favor of the immunity waiver, the Independent Greeks said "present" through Maria Kollia Tsarouha, while GD MP Elias Panagiotaros voted against.
It should be reminded that the new case file seeks the immunity waiver of all the GD MPs except of Elias Panagiotaros.
The investigating magistrates have asked permission to prosecute for the offense of setting up and directing a criminal organization against: El Zaroulia, M. Arvanitis, Nikos Kouzilos, Antonis Gregos, Polyvios Zissimopoulos, Kostas Barbarousis, Chrysovalantis Alexopoulos, Dimitris Koukoutsis and Artemis Mattheopoulos. They also seek the waiver of immunity for the offense of arms possession for El. Kasidiaris, N. Michos, N. Michaloliakos, Ch. Pappas, St. Boukouras, Y. Germenis, Y. Lagos and P. Eliopoulos.
The committee members will go to Korydallos prison next Tuesday to get a deposition by the imprisoned GD members on the new requests for an immunity waiver.
However, the attitude of the political parties in this committee describes their final position when the issue will reach the parliament. Regarding the Independent Greeks, Kollia explained that their attitude will depend on whether the imprisoned GD members will be given the right to a postal voting.
