800 euros for a family with two children and income of up to 10,000 euros - Extra aid to those who were left unemployed in 2013 - 4,000 additional uniformed personnel than originally planned - About 430 of the 525 million euros will be distributed to the weakest under income criteria
The decisions for beneficiaries who will share the 525 million euros of the primary surplus are entering the final straight. Although the consultations will continue for the next few days, at a meeting held today in the General Accounting Office under Deputy Finance Minister Christos Staikouras the relevant officials discussed the general categories of beneficiaries. The relevant provisions will be included in the multi-bill that will be voted at the Greek parliament this Friday.
According to information the officials decided that 525 million euros of the social dividend will be given to uninsured freelancers who owe to the funds, if they proceed to a regulation, and to 4,000 active uniformed personnel. The total number of beneficiaries will reach 800,000 to 1 million persons, with a minimum aid amount of about 500 that can be scaled to 800 euros for those with 2 children or 1,000 for large families.
In particular the Greek government plans to allocate:
- 20 million euros for homeless in bodies that offer housing and feeding
- 35 million euros to 68,000 uniformed personnel
- 20 million euros to about 350 - 400.000 uninsured persons, long-term unemployed, elderly and freelancers who owe to the funds (if they proceed to a regulation or suffer from chronic diseases) who will have healthcare for 2014
