Three-year bonus periods and the marriage allowance will be preserved

The two sides signed the new National General Collective Labour Agreement - Parental leave for the father for the first time

After their swift negotiations GSEE and employer organizations signed the new national general collective agreement which preserved the marriage allowance, the 13th and 14th salary and the institution of the frozen three-year bonus periods.

By signing the contract, the social partners have shown that they can function independently and are ready to renegotiate the level of the minimum wage immediately after the country from is disengaged from the requirements of the memorandum.

The only new setting in the new contract is the provision of an independent right to parental leave of 3 ½ months for the father as well if the mother does not make use of her right in the same period. Both parents can even tell their employer that they both want to make use of this right but in different time frames.

SEV (Hellenic Federation of Enterprises) president Dimitris Daskalopoulos said, "we have succeeded in signing an agreement. Now we must work to bring better days for workers and businesses."

GSSE president Yannis Panagopoulos said the agreement was signed under the shadow of the new memorandum laws and that we "signed it with a threat over our heads. We will fight to be heard and for the negotiations to operate freely."

ESEE chairman Vassilis Korkidis said the social partners under the guise of this contract protected the marital benefit and can now walk along in order to end the reckless cuts in wages.
