Apart from the 20 million euros to aid the uninsured, the two sides agreed to strengthen support about 200,000 long-term unemployed who do not receive even the allowance of 360 euros from the Employment Agency
The categories that will be aided by the redistribution of the primary surplus will be finalized after the enactment of the multi-bill – It will start at 500 euros for a single person and will go up to 1,000 euros for large families
In today's meeting of the Finance Ministry with the PASOK officials it was agreed that the social dividend will also be given to approximately 200,000 long-term unemployed although the social categories and amounts of redistribution of the primary surplus have not been finalized.
As protothema.gr is informed the morning meeting confirmed that the Greek government will allocate about 450 million euros as social dividend to those most affected by the crisis, such as the unemployed and uninsured.
Apart from the 20 million euros to aid the uninsured, the two sides agreed to strengthen support about 200,000 long-term unemployed who do not receive even the allowance of 360 euros from the Employment Agency. Another 20 million euros will be provided to aid the homeless and 35 million for aid to 68,000 - 70,000 uniformed personnel with a lump sum of 500 euros. The requirement for them to receive this assistance is that their salary in January 2014 should not have exceeded the 1,500 euros gross.
Discussions on the categories that will receive the dividend and how it will be redistributed to the citizens will continue after the adoption of the draft law. However, it will start at 500 euros for a single person and will reach up to 1.000 euros for large families.
In today’s meeting at the Ministry of Finance it was found that due to the parliamentary proceedings in connection with the multi-bill there is no time to further specialize the income and asset criteria and all sides agreed to work on them in detail by a joint ministerial decree to be drawn up after the multi-bill’s adoption.
