Greek museums and archaelogical sites extend visiting hours

Μany archaeological sites and museums extended their visiting hours in view of the upcoming tourist season.

33 museums and sites, such as The Acropolis and the National Archaeological Museum in Athens, the Knossos in Crete, and the sites of Ancient Olympia and Delphi in the Peloponnese, are set to operate on the new spring-summer schedule - daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. - through the end of October's.

This action is part of the implementation process of a national pilot program, while the selection of the 33 sites and museums was based on the number of visitors they attract. More are expected to join the program later on.

The Acropolis Museum in Athens has also modified its schedule and will now open on Mondays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
