Increase in RES stamp duty

A 26.4 pct increase in a renewable energy source (RES) stamp duty for household consumers has been introduced from April 1, targeting to help in closing a gap in RES accounts.

As the market’s watchdog stated, this a gap was created by increased penetration of renewable energy sources in the market combined with guaranteed high energy absorption prices introduced in previous year.

The Energy Regulatory Authority expects that this gap will be filled by the end of 2014.
