Samaras is displeased with the lack of police protection, 24 hours before Merkel's arrival

Terrorists acted undisturbed, leaving a car with 75 kilos of explosives in front of the Bank of Greece in one of the best guarded – supposedly – parts of the city. What would happen if there were no warning phone calls?

An air of discontent has been circulating in Maximos Mansion with the Ministry of Public Order after the terrorist attack at the city center, according to sources.

The fact that a car packed with 75 kilos of explosive material exploded in Amerikis Street, one of the best guarded – supposedly – areas of the capital's center 24 hours before the visit of Angela Merkel in Athens has strongly displeased Anthonis Samaras.

In light of the exit of Greece in the markets and the German Chancellor's visit, extra security measures should have been taken in areas such as the Bank of Greece. Instead, the terrorists acted undisturbed in one of the most central streets, in front of the main building of the Bank of Greece, without even minding the many traffic management cameras located in the area.

The ease with which they acted raises many questions and fears about what could happen next time, if there is no warning phone call... And all this while - again supposedly - in recent months the local authorities have been vigilant, after the escape of Christodoulos Ksiros and Maziotis - Roupa.
