Hollande bans mobile phones from cabinet meetings

The French president is trying to restore his prestige and credibility by any means necessary, in light of unfavorable poll results

Francois Hollande has explicitly instructed government officials to leave their mobile devices at the door when they join the weekly cabinet meeting, in order to ensure that they wont get distracted.

The French president is trying to restore his prestige and credibility by any means necessary, in light of unfavorable poll results. After the cabinet reshuffle, he wants to make sure that his ministers will give their undivided attention to their duties. For this reason , the Socialists will have to leave their phones at the door during cabinet sessions.

Hollande knows firsthand how distracting mobile calls and text messages can be at
work, as many officials of the Socialist Party have said that, sometimes during the Cabinet sessions, the French president received text messages and calls on his cell phone from his former sweetheart, Valerie Trierweiler and also from his secret love (who seemed to have gone missing last month) Julie Gayet.

At least now he will have Segolene Royal, his former mistress, mother of his four children and current Minister of Ecology, by his side.
