Parliament to decide on whether lifting the immunity of Golden Dawn MP

After the Easter, the parliament will decide if Kassidiaris' immunity will be lifted so as to face charges for illegally videotaping a conversation

The Supreme Court Prosecutor's Office on Thursday forwarded to the Justice ministry the case file against far-right Golden Dawn MP, Ilias Kassidiaris, regarding the illegal videotaping of his conversation with former cabinet secretary Panagiotis Baltakos.

Earlier, the Athens First Instance Court prosecutor had forwarded it to the Supreme Court prosecutor.

Soon after the Easter holidays, the Justice ministry will forward the case file to parliament to decide if Kassidiaris' immunity will be lifted.

Prosecutor Kalliopi Dagianta, who leads the investigation, has ruled that the controversial conversation, which led to Baltakos' resignation, had been videotaped by the MP of Golden Dawn and she requested to lift his parliamentary immunity to face felony charges for illegally recording a conversation according to article 370 of the Greek Criminal Code.
