South Korea: Vice principal rescued from sinking ferry found hanged

A professor who was among the survivors of Sewol cruise ship which sank on Holy Wednesday off the coast of South Korea committed suicide, not being able to live with the memory of his horrible experience. He was the vice principal of the school attended by the hundreds of dead and missing children and he was found dead outside a large gym, where the families of the victims reside.

The police announced that Kang Min-Giou, aged 52, went missing on Holy Thursday and allegedly hanged himself with his belt from a tree outside the gym.

Of the 475 passengers and crew members on the ship, about 340 were students and teachers at the high school Danuon in Anshan, an industrial city near Seoul, who were on an outing heading to Jeju island.
