Pro-russians and Ukrainians keep weapons at arms length

The pro-Russian occupiers in Donetsk rejected the recent Geneva agreement saying they will not leave the buildings they have occupied.

The quadripartite Geneva meeting between diplomats from the US, Russia, the Ukraine and the EU might allow for optimism for defusing the crisis in the Ukraine, but the view is not shared by pro-Russian separatists.

The pro-Russian occupiers in Donetsk rejected the recent Geneva agreement saying they will not leave the buildings they have occupied.

A spokesman of the protesters stated to the BBC that the Ukrainian government is "illegal" and stated that the protesters will not leave until the government resigns.

The agreement between the four ( USA, Russia, EU and Ukraine) in Geneva states that all illegal armed teams must give up their arms that that occupant protesters must vacate buildings, squares, and public spaces.

In return, Kiev will offer amnesty to protesters and squatters, except those accused of major crimes.

At the same time, under the leadership of the Ukrainian army, there has been an operation launched in order to chase out pro-Russian separatists in the eastern part of the country, which will also continue despite the Gevena agreement.

"The anti-terrorist operation continues and its duration will depend on how long terrorists remain in our country for", stated Marina Ostapenko, a spokesman of the SBU.
