"Potami" party's Mavrotas supports "New Democracy" party Zagorakis' MEP candidacy

Former captain of the national water polo team and political rival with the "Potami" party, but that did not stop him on being on the side of the former captain of national football team Theo Zagorakis, who is a MEP candidate with the New Democracy party.

The initial mutual support came from George Mavrotas over the derogatory terms that Zagorakis received about his nomination, but also threatening messages from PAOK fans.

"The more distinguished people from various backgrounds deal with common issues, the better", he stated in an article on the official website of the party, devoted exclusively to Zagorakis, giving him a tip: "What I expect from Zagorakis, if Greeks trust him as much as I believe, is to not just be there as an ornament, but to actively get involved with his new role".
