Moscow enraged by the deadly shootout in Slavyansk

The Russian Foreign Minister characterized the incident as a military provocation, which is an indication of Kiev's reluctance to disarm extremists

Russia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has released an announcement about the deadly shootout that occurred yesterday in Slavyansk, where four pro-Russian protesters were killed.

Moscow appears enraged by the deadly incident and characterizes it as "a military provocation which is an indication of Kiev's reluctance to disarm nationalists and extremists".

"It is surprising that this tragedy occurred after the signing of the Geneva Agreement, which calls for refraining from any violent actions, intimidation or provocations. The Russian side insists on the strict fulfillment by the Ukrainian side of its commitments concerning the de-escalation the situation in eastern Ukraine", concludes the statement of the Russian Foreign Ministry .

Note that the pro-Russian protesters claim that Ukrainian paramilitary organization Right Sector is responsible for the attack at the checkpoint in Slavyansk.
