Left-wing parties' statements on the dark anniversary of the 21st of April

Messages for the “black anniversary” of April 21st, was sent by all parties of the parliamentary Left.

SYRIZA notes in its message that “the current message of resistance is against the government’s memorandum policy, authoritarianism, repression of struggles and the limitation of popular sovereignty and democracy in both Greece and Europe”.

On its part, the Communist Party emphasized that “we empower the struggle of the people to become the owners of the wealth they produce, the life that the workers and the youth are deserving of, and socialism. To push the system that gives birth to repression, poverty and exploitation, in the past”.

The Democratic Left party states: “today, when neo-Nazi groups provoke public opinion, the bleak memories of the Junta can and should be passed on to the new generation as a story of remembrance of a time that the Greek people must never relive”.
