The official announcement by Eurostat on Greek primary surplus for 2013 is expected tomorrow and this is said to be the first of a series of positive news for the Greek economy
According to recent estimations, the European Statistical Office may announce a surplus of up to 3.4 billion euros based on the information and financial data of the National Statistical Service of Greece reported on April, 14.
A day after the announcement, a meeting of EuroWorking Group is expected to take place where the disbursement of the first part of the tranche will be decided.
However, the Greek government expects the announcement of Eurostat in order to start officially discussions on debt relief.
So, Finance Minister Yiannis Stournaras will be able to raise the issue of debt relief to European partners during the meeting of Eurogroup (May 5), who have committed to consider such a request if Greece achieves a primary surplus certified by Eurostat.
