Femen strike again in Paris, to protest against fascism

A Hitler mustache was painted on their face and on their bare breasts a European flag with its stars forming a swastika

Having painted a Hitler mustache on their face and on their bare breasts a European flag with its stars forming a swastika, the activists of the feminist organization Femen protested today in Paris against the French far-right party National Front (FN), at the official launch of the party’s campaign for the European elections.

The 22 activists, who wore black trousers and shoes, arrived at the site of the protest in a military formation and shouted slogans like "Fascist epidemic" and "Marine you are a fascist", referring to the president of the FN Marine Le Pen.

The demonstrators had also written the slogan "fascist epidemic” on their breasts and back, and they failed to enter the building where the press conference of FN was taking place. However, they were able to protest against the "fascist epidemic spreading in Europe", said Femen's spokeswoman, Inna Shevchenko.

While Le Pen 's party is seeking to rise to power on the elections of May 25, Femen start today "an international campaign against fascism in Europe", explained Shevchenko.

Femen protest in Paris lasted several minutes. Then the police surrounded and arrested the 22 activists.
