Zhang Zhiru's wife fears he was detained by State Security
A Chinese activist who was trying to help the workers in the country's biggest strike in recent years in Nike and Adidas factories has been missing for more than 24 hours.
Zhang Zhiru's wife, according to Reuters, fears that her husband has been arrested by men of the State Security.
Zhiru was last heard of when he spoke to his wife at around noon on Tuesday and told her that he had been summoned to a meeting with state security agents in Guangdong province.
When Reuters journalists tried today to call Zhang on his mobile phone, it appeared to be off.
Zhang actively participated in the strike that began on April 14, helping the workers together with other activists and lawyers to promote their claims.
