Italian interest for hydrocarbon researches in Epirus and West Greece

The Italian energy group “ENEL GROUP” is the largest service provider in the field of energy in 7 countries in which it has set up similar companies
The energy group “ENEL GROUP” has expressed interest for hydrocarbon researches in three areas of Western Greece and Epirus by submitting three applications to the Ministry of Environment, Energy and Climate Change.
The energy group asks to launch the tender process as provided by L.4001/2011. According to this tender process, investors who are interested can apply specifying the geographic boundaries of areas which are estimated to contain natural sources of hydrocarbon.
“ENEL GROUP” has exclusively expressed an interest for inland areas:
The block of northwestern Peloponnese, which was included in the first round of concessions in 1996 and returned to the Greek government after conducting two shallow drillings.
The block of Aitoloakarnania, which was also included in the first round in 1996 and returned after conducting two shallow drillings.
The region of Preveza – Arta lolcated between Aitoloakarnania block and Ioannina block, which is to be granted through the “open door” process.
