Kremlin-funded RT is a serious media contender like CNN and the BBC
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov accused the U.S., on Friday, stating that they want to discredit Russia, while he considered the "tone" of his U.S. counterpart, as "unnacceptable".
Moreover, Lavrov noted that "American propaganda" aims to "discredit Russia, to discredit those protesting against the illegal actions of the Kiev authorities, who try to ban Russian as a language and make all Russians and Russian speaking people, their enemies, who must be killed".
U.S. secretary John Kerry, accused Moscow -on Thursday- that it took no initiative to implement the agreement reached in Geneva and warned Russia not to make an "expensive mistake". He also accused TV network RT (Russia Today), which is funded by the Kremlin, that it "promotes the eccentric vision of President Putin, for whatever is going on down there".
Lavrov criticized the statements of his counterpart and defended RT as a "serious" rival of CNN and the BBC. "John Kerry did so in his statement yesterday, in an unacceptable tone, an advocate's tone... and then they are blaming us that we set forth Putin's propaganda machine through Russia Today. As you know, to speak like that for a media tool is doubtlessly not very polite", Lavrov noted.
