The government bonds scandal is being looked into by an investigative board, a decision made after today’s results of the committee responsible for the examination into the matter. According to sources, PASOK is going to indict Mr. Petros Doukas for whom evidence exists which points to interference and backroom deals on the purchase of structured bonds amounting to a value of 280 million Euros. Also indicted, is Mr. Savvas Tsitouridis on the charge of dereliction of duty on the matter of auditing and monitoring the lawful purchase of said bonds market through the accounts of insurance organizations. Certain parliament members also recommended former Minister of Finance Mr. George Alogoskoufis for indictment.
Furthermore, members of parliament belonging to the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) and the Coalition of the Radical Left Wing (SYRIZA) will not offer opinions on the matter this coming Monday, but agreed on the need for an investigative board. The Popular Orthodox Alarm (LAOS) is considering only indicting Mr. Doukas, whereas the Democratic Left Wing (Dimokratiki Aristera) is gunning for both Mr. Doukas and Mr. Tsitouridis.
It should be noted that the findings of the investigative board will be presented to the Chair of Parliament this coming Tuesday.
