5 key points investigated by Counter-Terrorism force

The manifesto of the «Cores of Fire Conspiracy», uploaded on a website, in which they take responsibility for the 14 package bombs sent to embassies and other targets in Greece and abroad, is under close scrutiny by the experts of the Counter-Terrorism force.   

Very reliable information indicates that the investigation focuses on five findings. Specifically:

    * Police are trying to decode the emblem, which is revealed by the group for the first time. As stressed by a police official, «We believe that if we decipher what it means to the members and how it was conceived, we will get a clear picture of their leaders…».
    * The experts were perplexed by the resemblance of this manifesto with those of the Revolutionary Sect. «It’s the first time the Cores are threatening a key citizen/witness. The reference to the female employee is indicative. The Sect had a similar reaction» says an official from the police force, adding «we are trying to connect this similarity…».
    * A reference point for the specialists is the calling to comrades in other countries for a similar reaction. It shows, according to their intel, a clear national orientation.
    * Experts are troubled by the detailed references to prisons and penal and antiauthoritarian detainees… They might gather valuable information through a close investigation…
    * Overall, Counter-Terrorism officers talk about a proclamation with very few political points and of no ideological nature, written by young people trying to spread fear…

A lot of pages

In 13 pages, the authors mention their three active years and the more than 200 arson and bomb attacks, express their support to the two arrested in Pagkrati, Gerasimos Tsakalos and Panagiotis Argirou, and Haris Hatzimichelakis (arrested some months ago in the Chalandri hideout). They stress: «We declare that from this day on, the T.O. Cores of Fire Conspiracy will be expressed through two autonomous and equal structures. Us, self defined as the illegal part of the group and the second part, our detained members (G. Tsakalos, P. Argirou, H. Hatzimichelakis), as well as any other arrested comrades who abide by our beliefs».

The terrorists essentially “photograph” their targets, saying that «our targets, car dealers, banks, police stations, security companies, politburos, the Parliament, churches, the court of justice, prisons, embassies… are just buildings for us, and no matter how many explosives we place, they will be rebuilt with more cameras, more security, more and more seemingly impregnable structures». They point out that they will continue their action, stating: «We don’t retreat… we stand, we do not attempt… we can, we do not beg… we steal, we do not erase… we burn, we do not wait… we anticipate. The Conspiracy will never be arrested because it’s not just an organization, it’s a flow of ideas and ideas are never caught».

The group unveils its emblem for the first time, stating the reasons for not using large quantities of explosives, which would result in serious injuries or even death to the recipients.

«Our providence that the mail of the aristocracy or the ambassadors is not opened by themselves, but by their staff, told us not to use our powerful explosives but a small amount of self-made black gunpowder, to deliver the message without somebody getting injured».
