Highjack attempt averted in Iran

Iranian security forces have averted a highjacking attempt today, arresting a man who claimed to have placed a bomb on a flight from Teheran to Damascus.  

As Fars and Mehr agencies report, citing an Iran Air official, Iranian security officers arrested a «mentally unstable» man, who threatened to hijack the plane. 

«When the airplane was above Damascus, one of the passengers caused panic saying he intended to highjack the plane» adding «The officers arrested him immediately to find he was unarmed. They talked to him, calmed him down and the airplane landed safely at the Damascus airport.»
