Owners of property worth 1,2 billion still fail to pay their 12-million debts!

There are many people that owe taxes, but until now they have completely ignored the state the country is in, as well as their debts to the Greek IRS. Therefore the government has decided on a new re-evaluation of all cases that have not settled their debts and is going out for the kill, especially looking into the richer areas of Thessaloniki and Athens.

The General Secreteriat of Information Systems of the Ministry of Finance has cross checked owners in very expensive areas that owe the tax office more than 1,000 euros.

The results are as follows:

• 304 owners of property in areas such as Filothei or Paleo Psychiko owe more than 4,5 million in total whilst owning property that reaches 454,1 million.
• 148 owners of property in Ekali/Erithrea owe  3,6 million whilst owning property that is worth 222,7 million in total.
• 245 owners of property in Voula/Vouliagmeni owe 3,4 million in total whilst owning property that is worth 350 million.
• 75 owners of property in Panorama/Kalamaria (Thessaloniki) owe 1 million whilst owning property that has a total worth of 135 million.

The Ministry has already started sending out letters to all persons that have large debts exceeding 100,000 euros in order to inform them that they have until the 15^th of December to pay off their debts. If they fail to submit payments there will be an enforced confiscation of properties.
