While officers in the police labs are examining the 6,000 pieces of evidence found in the four hideouts, in the Counterterrorism headquarters they are focusing on 4 points. Specifically:
* They are looking for the funding of the organization/s. It is quite certain that were amassing funds in order to rent apartments, buy weapons, support and train the members of the organizations. It’s not by chance that 4 credit and cash withdrawal cards were found on only one of the arrested individuals, which means they were either getting them with fake id’s or by robbing banks. For this reason, 8 robberies in Attica, Western Greece and Thessaloniki are under the microscope in order to find out whether they were committed by those arrested or by others. «It’s possible they had lockers with money or other illegal material. A lot of money was in the 'revolutionary fund', that’s for sure» says an officer in protothema.gr.
* The fact that ticket slips and boarding passes were found in the hideouts with destinations in Italy, Holland and cities in Greece, has made the officers look into the trips taken by the arrestees. «It’s amazing how comfortably they were moving around, traveling or living. We are investigating connections in Italy and Holland, from which they gained technical knowledge for high-risk attacks» an officer reports.
* As mentioned in the case files, the whole story unfolded from the incident in Pagkrati and the arrest of the 2 senders of the explosive envelops, Gerasimos Tsakalos and Panagiotis Argyrou. They reached Konstantinos Sakkas from Tsakalos, and then the rest from the phone calls made by and to the 26-year-old. Through the analysis of the sim cards, mobile phones and phone cards used by the arrested, police will gather a lot of new evidence, something though that might take a while.
* They are targeting more than 10 people, specifically: a woman 1,55 in height and around 35 years of age who is active in Agrinio and suspected of involvement with the the weapons transport; a tall unshaven man in his 30s somewhere in Patra, without a specific field of action; 4 wanted for participating in the "Conspiracy of the Cores of Fire"; two wanted with a 600,000 euro reward for their participation in the «Robbers in Black» gang and thought to be major players in the modern guerilla city warfare. Finally, the most wanted are the two Sect «guns». They are two men, 35-40 years old, thought to be the ones who pulled the trigger and shot in cold blood the Counterterrorism officer, Nektarios Savvas, in Kato Patisia and the journalist Sokratis Giolias outside his home in Ilioupoli.
