Shops will be closed Sunday 12th of December

Under a temporary order by the President of the high court, Sotiris Rizos, all shops will be closed on Sunday 12th of December 2010.

Mr. Rizos accepted the petition of the Federation of all Merchant Unions of Attica, the Union of Shop Employees and the Federation of Employees in the Private Sector, all asking for the decision of the Municipal Board of Athens that  shopsshould open on the 12th of December 2010 to be rescinded.

The National Co-Federation of Greek Commerce and the Federation of Commerce Unions were asking for a cancellation of the decision, claiming it only benefits department stores and brand chains.
