PASOK stands “frozen” over Pagkalos…

Message from Papandreou in every direction about luxurious living.

Embarrassment and malicious comments in the government have been caused by the revelation that the vice president spent New Year’s Eve at a luxurious hotel.

The fact that Pagkalos has been accusing large groups of workers of causing the crisis, while he is immersed in luxury, has left the majority of the members of PASOK gasping, since his behavior does not tally with the role of the complainant, as they say.

At Maximou, they are taken aback by this situation and close colleagues of the PM are keeping strict distances from the vice president, refusing to cover for him.

Sources say that Papandreou will probably send an indirect but clear message to each side that the government does not endorse such behavior, when it is implementing such rough measures towards workers.

In reality, Pagkalos is turning into a foreign body within the government, since he rarely takes part in crucial proceedings, even though the PM has formally assigned important responsibilities to him.

As members of the government are worriedly sayin «Pagkalos will not be able to walk in the streets in a while and none of us is in the mood to cover for him only because he is vice president. He is responsible for his own words and his actions».

Even though anything is possible concerning whether Pagkalos will remain in the government, it is difficult for the PM to make a dramatic decision at this time, even if the Attica MP is now a burden for Papandreou in his attempt to convince the public that the government is making honest and fair attemptsto exit the economic crisis.
